"3 hours after check-in": From July 7, Belarusians will need to report on the accommodation of foreigners

On July 7, amendments to the Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons" come into force.
The innovations oblige legal entities, individuals, and individual entrepreneurs to report to the police when renting out premises to foreigners.
The changes in the legislation are announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.
Residential Premises
The department draws attention to the fact that from July 7, it will be necessary to inform about the rental of residential premises, including rooms in agro-eco-estates, garden houses, dachas, and business apartments.
Who Must Notify
Owners of premises will have to inform the law enforcement officers of the nearest police department about the settlement of foreigners.
Notification Period
The specified persons will have to inform the law enforcement authorities within a period not exceeding 3 hours from the moment of settlement of foreign citizens.
Exceptions
No need to report on the settlement:
- official delegations;
- heads and employees of diplomatic missions and consulates;
- members of the crews of civil aircraft on international airlines;
- crews of trains on international railway services;
- drivers transporting goods and passengers in international traffic and not only.
Responsibility
Owners of residential premises who ignore this rule face a fine of up to 20 base units (800 Belarusian rubles).
