Italy has reduced the list of documents required for a Schengen visa for Belarusians.

Changes have affected some financial documents, as well as tickets and hotel bookings. The list of documents required when applying for a Schengen visa has been shortened, the Italian Embassy in Belarus reported.
"Visa documents are accepted only in paper form (not by email or in digital format)," the embassy recalled. And they named the documents that no longer need to be provided.
Firstly, the changes affected documents on financial resources for minors traveling with a parent who pays for the trip — only a sponsorship letter signed by the parent who incurs the expenses is needed.
Similarly, there is no need to confirm financial resources for a husband (wife) who travels with a wife (husband) acting as the sponsor of the trip — in this case, a sponsorship letter is also sufficient. This rule applies only to those who are officially married; this clause does not apply to unions not registered officially, even if the couple has been living together for a long time.
"The sponsorship letter can be written by hand directly when submitting documents for a visa. At the same time, confirmation of financial resources is REQUIRED if the person acting as a sponsor DOES NOT travel with a minor or spouse," the embassy noted.
Secondly, for those traveling by plane, tickets for the bus or driver's license / vehicle documents are no longer needed to confirm travel from Minsk to the nearest airport.
Thirdly, there is no longer a need to confirm accommodation in transit countries.
Fourthly, individual entrepreneurs no longer need to present an electronic key (the first page is sufficient).
Fifthly, documents confirming ownership of real estate/land plots in Belarus are also no longer needed.
Previously, the embassy reported that when applicants reapply, they are asked to provide evidence of their previous trips to Italy: paid accommodation in the country with surnames and dates, paid tickets (boarding passes), personalized expense receipts, a bank statement reflecting expenses in Italy, and applicants who traveled on an invitation may be asked to provide photos with the people who invited them.
"The above materials are not part of the mandatory package of documents, but they may be useful for the visa issuance decision," the embassy noted.
