Visa-free regime between Belarus and Oman came into force

    17.03.2026
Belarus and Oman introduced a visa-free regime from March 17; the intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of ordinary national passports entered into force today, Sputnik reported, citing the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The introduction of a visa-free regime is a continuation of the agreements reached between the President of Belarus and the Sultan of Oman, aimed at enhancing tourist, educational, and business flows between the two countries," the Foreign Ministry said.

Thus, Belarusian and Omani citizens will have the right to enter, exit, transit, and stay in both countries without visas for up to 30 days.

According to the agreement, they can stay in the countries for up to 90 days in total per calendar year.

At the same time, the validity period of the passport must be at least six months.

The agreement on mutual visa exemption between Oman and Belarus was signed in Minsk on October 6, 2025, following negotiations between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.

The law on ratification of the intergovernmental agreement with Oman on mutual visa exemption was signed by the President of Belarus at the end of January 2026.

Belarus and Oman are currently negotiating the opening of direct air service.
