Often, when traveling abroad (for tourism and recreation, work, study, etc.), many people prefer to believe in the best, that nothing can happen to them, and they enjoy the upcoming trip and new experiences. Completely forgetting about the possible danger, people boldly "fortune-tell on their destinies"...
With another bright event, the volunteer club "Elpis" came to the students of Brest State Technical University. On October 31, 2013, an action was held in the hostel No. 1 of the Educational Institution "BSTU" as part of the project "Prevention of human trafficking, taking into account the gender aspect among students in Brest." The action was called "All or nothing." The purpose of this event was to draw students' attention to the problem of human trafficking and to develop a safe algorithm of actions when traveling abroad.
The action used colored balloons in the shape of daisies, with colored stickers in the petals containing options for situations that a person may encounter when traveling abroad (labor exploitation, sexual exploitation, organ trafficking, etc., as well as options with successful travel experience).
During the action, volunteers offered participants to burst a petal with the proposed situation, comment on it, and develop an algorithm of actions aimed at safe travel abroad. Also, the participant received a calendar in the form of a suitcase, which contained information with hotline numbers, the website address of the NGO "Club of Business Women" and the contact group of the volunteer club "Elpis". Participants were advised not to neglect simple safety rules when traveling abroad. The phrase "Don't guess how your trip abroad will be! Call the hotline!" was the message of the action.
