Project completed. 2014 y. May 23-26, 2013, training course for volunteers of the Elpis club

On May 23-26, 2013, volunteers from the Elpis club, as well as "newcomers" wishing to join the ranks of our volunteer club, had the opportunity to participate in two training sessions within the framework of the project "Prevention of human trafficking with a gender perspective among students in Brest." For four days, we were trained and shared our experiences, simultaneously forming a new team, by Irina Volkova, deputy chairperson of the NGO "Club of Business Women." The first training, which took place on May 23-24, was aimed at preparing volunteers to conduct educational events to form a gender culture among young people; the goal of the second training, held on May 25-26, was to prepare volunteers to conduct preventive measures to prevent human trafficking with a gender perspective on the principle of "equal teaching equal."

   The trainings were held at the hostel of the Educational Institution "Brest State University named after A.S. Pushkin." The opening took place with the direct participation of the chairperson of the NGO "Club of Business Women," L.N. Istomova, who informed about the activities of the organization, the purpose of the training organized for us, more details about the upcoming joint work, and also about the implementation of the project as a whole was reported by A.P. Dobrodei, head of the volunteer club "Elpis."

   During the training, in addition to involving volunteers in a new topic, previously acquired knowledge and skills of coaching work among young people were systematized. Significant assistance was provided by guides developed by I.Yu. Volkova, as well as volunteers from the Elpis club, which contain theoretical material necessary for the work of volunteers, games, and exercises to consolidate it. Undoubtedly, all the exercises, games, and tasks that the volunteers themselves completed during the seminar were useful, since for many not only the information, but also the form of work "training" was unknown before. Detailed modules were also developed for conducting trainings oriented to certain age groups of young people and educational institutions.

   It is obvious that the training was successful, since all the volunteers not only updated their knowledge, but also managed to make friends, joining the ranks of volunteers of the Elpis club.
